Mainers know they can trust Senator Collins to protect their Social Security.
Myra Roderick from Anson, Maine, wrote a Letter-To-The-Editor praising Senator Collins for leading the fight to pass the Social Security Fairness Act:

Susan Collins fights to protect Social Security for Mainers. And she always will.
In January 2025, Senator Collins’ bipartisan legislation called the Social Security Fairness Act was signed into law. As a result, millions of teachers, fire fighters, law enforcement officers, and other public servants or their spouses -- including over 25,000 Mainers -- will receive their hard earned Social Security benefits. Americans who received a public-sector pension in retirement were previously restricted from obtaining full benefits because of provisions known as the Windfall Elimination Provisions (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO), an issue Senator Collins’ legislation addressed.
“As someone who spent the first 20+ years of my career paying into Social Security and then transitioned to education, where I will spend over 20 years before retiring, I am deeply appreciative of Senator Susan Collins for authoring and advocating for the passage of the Social Security Fairness Act. Senator Collins’ work on this critical issue ensures that when it is time for myself and many of my colleagues to retire, we will have access to the benefits we’ve earned through years of hard work. It also helps provide us with a more financially secure future.”
Even the Democrat Governor of Maine, Janet Mills, praised Susan Collins for fighting to protect social security services and said “...God bless Senator Collins…”
